Pete Davidson has checked into a rehab facility to take care of his mental health. According to a source close to the former Saturday Night Live star, he is "taking a well deserved break so he can focus on himself and learn to better deal with his PTSD issues."

"Pete regularly goes to rehab for 'tune ups' and to take a mental break, so that's what's happening," they told Page Six. "Anyone who knows Pete knows that he will always step up and get help when he knows he needs it. He has a lot of people in his corner who love him and support him, and are proud of him."

In a case of life imitating art imitating life, Davidson is reportedly receiving treatment at the same Pennsylvania rehab facility where his friend and fellow SNL alum John Mulaney recently sought help in his recovery from alcohol and cocaine addiction—just weeks after Peacock aired a scene of his autobiographical sitcom Bupkis in which he tells Mulaney that he's going to the same rehab.

Davidson has spoken openly in the past about his mental health issues: he has PTSD after losing his father, firefighter Scott Davidson, in the 9/11 attack at the age of seven, and as an adult has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD).

"I was always just so confused all the time, and just thought something was wrong, and didn’t know how to deal with it," the comedian said during a Variety interview in 2021, adding that his diagnosis helped to bring clarity to his situation: "Then, when somebody finally tells you, the weight of the world feels lifted off your shoulders. You feel so much better."
