Some people come to horror looking for scares. Others come looking to laugh. Hell, some of us are just looking for anything to help us feel alive. And that’s the glory of the genre: when you find a great piece of horror, it can make you feel all of the above. Whether you’re taking in the atmospheric horror of an artsy A24 film like Midsommar or Hereditary, or watching a campy slasher from the Friday the 13th or Halloween series for the 100th time, or something in the Scream franchise, which often times will help those two worlds meld together, our mission when watching horror is to feel something. And perhaps more than any other genre, we usually are able to reach that goal.
This October on Men’s Health, we’re celebrating the horror genre and some of our favorite works, creators, and performers from within it through the years. And we hope these stories will help you to enjoy them as much as we do—and, OK, fine, maybe get a couple scares out of it along the way too.
So, with that said, we give you Men’s Health Horror Week 2022. Enjoy.
